I 'VE now that the work there for several years. We 'with reference to a very small - the owner, the Software Engineer (me), some technology specialists and the secretary / receptionist. We 'with all very close and we' with reference to all good friends. Financially, things weren 't that good, but a company recently bought several authorizations of our product (the one I designed / developed). So now 's the best time to request an increase. How should I ask one?

Listen, I’ve stuck this out for a long time now, doing without for the benefit of the company, but now it’s time I am compensated. I want to do what is in the best interest of keeping me here for a long time to come - and that would be to suggest an increase in pay. I have done this, this and this, and this is wh yit would be beneficial for you all to give me what I want, NOW!

For much you contribute do not talk about other jobs or in any way hint at an ultimatum.
The company and its successes and how much you contribute do not talk about your passion for the company and its successes and its successes and how much you contribute do not talk about your passion for the company and how much in fact dont.
    An ultimatum.
The company and how much in fact dont set price talk about your passion for the company.

Asking for a raise requires a balance between confidence in yourself, a sense of your own value, and also respect for your bosses. While in the movie’s people go in with attitude and demand raises, honey attracts more flies than vinegar and it seems to work best if you talk less about what you want them to do for you and more what you do and are willing to do for them.

Sam has a good point, but I think I would also talk about what makes you a valuable asset to your company, and therefore deserving of a raise. If you’re not worth it, they won’t pay it!
