Hunting for Real Estate Investment Deals Online

November 17th, 2009 | by FS |

After reading a number of investment books over the years, I have learned one thing:  it is best to always keep your money working for you.  I find that if you are letting your money just sit in your bank account then it is just wasting away which is just not acceptable.

So, when my aunt passed away (God rest her soul), I found myself with a small inheritance.  Okay, it was a lot larger than I was expecting, but since I was her only nephew and she had no children, I guess I should have expected it.

Now, I didn’t want the money to waste away in the bank (or in a GIC like my father suggested), so I turned my sights to finding some investment properties in my hometown of Tampa.

Thankfully, there are a number of places that I looked that had plenty of Tampa property for sale, and I proceeded to write down the ones with potential.  I set them aside so that I could crunch numbers to find the true gems.

My favorite part of the whole experience was that I could do the prospecting from the comfort of home before taking up any of my realtor’s time – truth be told, I think he likes it too.
