love inquired:

I want to be a PC specialist…Or someone who fixes computers…like software and viruses and stuff..There’s a college i’m interested in that has Data processing, Programming, and systems…it’s a AAS degree. Employment is possible after 2 years, or IF i wanted (which i don’t) i could transfer…I was just wondering if this was the right course to take…Please help!

Those courses are useless if you want to be a computer tech. Find a good technical school such as ITT technical or DeVry. They will have the practical, technical courses that will prepare you for a rewarding career in computer repair. And most tech schools have programs that are 1 year or less in length that will get you into the workplace. And they also have 2 year programs that offer associate degrees.

I agree that Devry or ITT may be better, but I also think that they can be very expensive.

I’m not sure exactly what course you are thinking about, but community college courses can be very cost-effective and still get you where you want to go. What I would do is talk to a guidance counselor at MVCC and see what they say. Be honest about what you want to do. See if they can guide you better. An associate’s degree may be what you need to be a PC repair person.
