New Trend In Capitalism

April 21st, 2009 | by 4reign |

What’s the most important thing you are trying to do if you own a business? Is it to deliver the best quality product available? Is it to provide the highest level of service possible? Is it to make sure that all of your customers are as happy as they should be? I would say that all of those things are certainly very important. But really the most important thing that you are trying to do if you own a business is to realize the highest amount of profits that you can.

And one of the most important things that you can do to increase profits is to decrease expenses. Obviously at the end of the day you will end up with more money in your pocket if you spend less money! Business owners are always looking for new and unique ways to do this. And there is one trend that has been gaining a lot of popularity.

Foreign outsourcing is nothing new. And while it is not viable for each and every situation, it makes perfect sense in others. One specific example is the call centers overseas. If you can pay half the money to get the same exact job done because you are not dealing with things like minimum wages or unions it just makes sense. And there is nothing “un-American” about this either because it exemplifies everything that capitalism and free market economies are about!

You have to be careful with the quality of product that you get with foreign outsourcing. I have outsourced work for years and finding a provider that not just understands English, but is a good communicator as well is key.

This is especially helpful at this time when economy is so down.

    Great post!

You make a good point in the last paragraph. We are outsourcing more and more work, but other nations also create a lot of jobs in America. This give-and-take is a part of the modern economy, and overall I think it’s a good thing.

Outsourcing has become a great resource for companies trying to keep up their capital. Most call centers are outsourced now which gives workers in poorer economies a chance to earn a living.

As long as you are not having to have your outsourced workers communicate with customers, this can be a great cost saver. However, if you are considering service outsourcing, you may want to consider other routes.

You said it best when you said, “The best way to increase profits is decrease expenses.” Whatever else you do you need to make sure you do that. You can’t spend more or equal to what you make if you want to see a profit, so start cutting costs wherever possible to keep your head above water.

It seems like everything is being outsourced now. Everything from phone service to basic data entry. Of course, outsourcing can only go so far.
