it got me thinking about software testing. What is it ?
Would I need to check that the software has been developed in accord with the software development method ?
How would I find out what the software development method is ? Someone could say, “It’s whatever we did to develop the software”. What if there are two or more versions of the “software development method” ?
The book lists Bob Clark as Operational Software Manager, SWSC, project and DMO, and interviewed for the book on [6 October 2006]

The question that exercises me is :
What software development methodology did SWSC use ?
If there was a known software development methodology, there’d be a possibility of checking that that software development methodology had been followed during the development. The method would be known by one or more of Clark, Vanderhoek, Johnson, Neilson, Pascall, Millington. After they left SWSC, SWSC would still possess a software development methodology,
provided the software development method had been handed over to the next “operational software manager”, and was being followed.
As I’m typing in the question I see that krypton kas kindly replied saying that
“Software testing does not test software to check if it has been developed according to the development method.”
SWSC was not as far as I know a large corporation.
It would have needed to check that the software has been developed in accord with the software development method.
I don’t dispute kryponite is very well informed, but so were people at SWSC,
I assume. So they might have made the mistake of not checking that the correct software development method was being used and not checking that the
software development method they claimed to be following was actaully being followed.
If they weren’t doing this, they wouldn’t have a proper basis for testing their software. And they wouldn’t have a basis for producing interoperable systems with the new Collins.
I’m not suggesting all or any of this wasn’t done, just saying it’s more complicated than it looks.

The gathered requirements and agreed standards to develop the industry im not really sure what swsc is currently being used in the model they are using waterfall model they are going to tell what the different stages in the gathered requirements and where testing is technically.
